If only computers were smart enough to detect and fix problems all by themselves. Well Science Daily has a report about a group of computer scientists at the University of Utah who have produced software called A3. It can automatically detect malware that it has never seen before and perform the steps to fix the issue. Very cool.
The A3 software has been tested on a variety of known malware and bugs, such as the recent Shellshock bug, which it managed to detect and fix in just 4 minutes. This is a great tool to help the on going battle with malware and viruses. Even if it can’t fix a problem all by itself, at least it could alert the administrator that something is wrong.
Expect the A3 software to get credit for finding a bug or new malware in the future.
